So, Apple is apparently going to be increasing App Store prices in the United Kingdom. From what I could find, it is due to the pound depreciating due to Brexit. According to news outlets, such as CNET, Apple sent the details of the plans to developers via email yesterday. According to CNET, apps currently priced at 79 pence to 99 pence in about a week. The £1.49 apps are supposed to go up to £1.99.
While Apple is not responding to requests for comment from news outlets, I have to wonder if this is really due to devaluation of the pound, or simply because Apple likes money. I for one would not put it past Apple to do something like this just to make a little extra.
